Illusive is thrilled to announce the first ever Australian tour by legendary New York producer/DJ, Pete Rock. The self proclaimed Soul Brother #1 hits Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth in January 2012.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest hip-hop producers of all time, Pete Rock first rose to prominence as part of the hugely influential duo Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth. From there, he has embarked on an unrivalled production and solo career spanning two decades, seeing him produce iconic records for Run DMC, Public Enemy, A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Ghostface Killah and Redman to name a few. He is credited as playing a major role in the merging of elements of jazz and funk into hip hop music, and has most recently been brought back into rap’s consciousness with his production on Jay-Z & Kanye West’s ‘Watch The Throne’ album (‘The Joy’).

The man has a record collection that clocks well into the 90,000s and a resume featuring the likes of ‘Down With The King’, ‘The World is Yours’, ‘Shut ‘em Down’ and ‘T.R.O.Y’. His highly acclaimed live show is a journey through the mind of one of the most influential musicians of the past few decades. Don’t miss it.

Melbourne via London alternative-pop duo Metals throw down an exceptionally bold statement with their brand new single Like/Unlike.

Fusing a unique mix of 60′s soul riffs, heavy rap drums and brash pop songwriting, Like/Unlike sounds like nothing else in the Australian music landscape. Lead singer Candice Butler’s defiant stance against hiding behind an online persona – “Hey Mr Stranger, who the f**k do you think you are?” – quickly turns into a contradicting tale of her love/hate relationship with today’s obsession with social media – “I just cannot give it up, don’t wanna give it up, you know its like a drug”.

Enlisting juggernaut Australian rapper/songwriter 360 and emerging producer Styalz Fuego as behind the scenes co-pilots, Metals take a truly remarkable sonic step with Like/Unlike, the first single from their upcoming debut album due in early 2012.
